Interesting article out of San Antonio about Mexico's response to Katrina, their contribution to the relief effort, and how FEMA fucked that up, too.

My favorite quote: " Because both of Mexico's long coastlines are more hurricane-prone than our own, it has developed valuable expertise in dealing with the consequences of hurricanes. And since Mexico doesn't invade other countries, its military focuses a lot of energy on serving its populace — and its neighbors — after disastrous calamities."

Yea, I'm pretty fired up about our resources not be available for our people. I have thought this for awhile that a disaster or another attack would be timed pretty well right now because who would be here to help us?

I wonder what the response would have been had Wall Street been flooded.
